(STEP) program in the US Virgin Islands.\u00a0 The project was a pilot program for FEMA that expanded the normal STEP scope of work.\u00a0 The remoteness of the US Virgin Islands made it impossible to provide alternative housing to displaced residents, which is the primary emergency housing offered to Stateside residents.<\/p>\n<p>Polaris was responsible for the repairs of more than 1,000 homes on St. Croix.\u00a0 Supplies and workers were not locally available to support the project.\u00a0 Our team worked to procure, warehouse, and track materials for the construction.\u00a0 We were required to provide housing and vehicles for the workers that we needed to bring to the island to help finish the work scope.\u00a0 Polaris replaced\/repaired more than 200 roofs on the
